History
Dad's Ranch started in the late 1800s with 640 acres. The first generation came from northern Germany and settled on this farm around 1868 as small grain farmers. Of the five kids the oldest, Henry Schuster the second stayed on the farm and became the second generation. With the second generation the farm got split in half to 320 acres. In 1909 Henry started building buildings on the farm. He built a barn, a rare grainary because it was the first to have a elevator in it. In about 1950 Henry III took over and had five children making him the third generation. Arnold Schuster was the fourth generation in 1955. He ended up with 240 acres. Arnold started Dairy with six Holstein cows. He also did grain, hay, corn, little oats and 10 pigs with his wife, Dorothy, who had a bunch of laying chickens. Arnold improved the farm by building a hayshed and new barn.
5th Generation
David Schuster, current owner took over in 1984. He switched to beef black Angus cattle in 1982. David has been farming for 35 years so far and has been doing all natural beef black Angus since 1990. David has improve the farm by building a new machine shed. The next generation includes: Merlin, Jeremy, Heather and Amber Schuster.
